Summer Triathlon Club sponsored by Easy Rider Bikes and L & L Auto Service begins June 1st, 2010- open to ages 7-up. We meet at Foster beach Tuesdays at 4 PM weather permitting thru August. There may be Thursday practices additionally. Members compete at the South Shore Triathlon and McGaw Y Triathlon. The fee of $75 includes racing shirt. Race registration is additional. Scholarships and discounts available. See our photos from the last 2 seasons! Please bring to each practice: Bike and helmet, closed toe shoes. Wear swim suit under clothing. Bring swim cap and goggles also.
Triathlon club was organized to provide kids of all athletic abilities to train for kids' triathlon races in a team environment. We meet by the bike shack at Foster beach at 4:00 PM. We warm up, do core exercises and do a swim-bike -run workout. Parents are welcomed to volunteer/workout with the kids. Early in the season when the lake is cold we bike-run and jump in the cold water after we're warmed up. Younger members bike 1-2 miles on the gravel path (no traffic/cars) and run about 3/4 mile. Older participants can bike up to 8 miles and run 1.5 at each practice. We can work with swimmers of all abilities also and members can participate in pool sessions at St. Patrick High School.
